He engaged in research on blinding diseases in the ocular fundus at the Department of Ophthalmology of the University of Tokyo and the Ophthalmology Department of Jichi Medical University.
In 2015, he found that deep learning’s image identification ability exceeded that of humans and began to research deep learning; in 2016, he established LLC.
Currently based in Tochigi prefecture, while diagnosing/treating various kinds of blinding diseases as an Associate Professor in the Ophthalmology Department of Jichi Medical University, he is developing a fundus photograph reading support system for medical checkups called DeepEyeVision.

Yasuo Yanagi
